Eustis, Fl
This stop felt like an administrative stop. It was not so much fun as it was productive. Being on the road full time can make a lot of normal life more difficult. Things like medical care, mail, and maintenance take a lot of planning.
I wanted to establish medical care somewhere on the east coast and I was able to knock out a lot of doctor appointments while I was here. Since my parents are in Mount Dora, the Orlando area felt like a central location that I could circle back to a few times a year. I found a new primary care doctor, psychologist, dentist, and eye doctor.
Receiving mail has always been a bit of a headache. I have a PO box in Washington to maintain a mailing address and WA residency. I can have that forwarded to my location as needed but I do need to plan ahead. Most parks will allow you to have packages delivered to their office but there is often a fee, $5 per package. Amazon locker pickup is a great option but not all things from Amazon can be sent to a locker. It depends on where it is being sent from and how large the item is. If you are ordering from a place where shipping can take 7-10 days it can be hard to schedule it to arrive when you are in a specific spot. All that to say, I had a mountain of mail delivered to my parent’s address. Thanks mom and dad, you easily saved me over $100 in fees.
After our cross country drive from AZ to FL the brakes were not engaging well and definitely needed to be looked at. We had been calling around but when you are only in a location for a short time availability can be difficult. Thankfully we were able to find a mobile tech with availability in Eustis so we did not need to bring the 5th-wheel into the shop. They were able to come out and replace the brakes on the trailer as well as repack our axle bearings.
We also sprung a water leak. It took a little while to figure out where it was coming from since water was pooled up in the storage area. Once we pulled everything out and dried everything off we were able to see it was coming from the hot water heater. Thankfully it was nothing too serious, just a leaky connector. I replaced the elbow attachment for the fresh water hose going into the hot water tank and that seemed to solve the issue.
Thanksgiving
This was the first Thanksgiving a few years I was able to spend at home with my parents and Kim. It was really nice to be in the area and enjoy good food and family for the holiday. Everything was delicious, the table was beautiful. I of course took home as many leftovers as possible.

Crochet Update
I was still working on Christmas presents and this one was going to be for Dan.

I used crochet thread to make this so it is small, only about two inches tall. The opening of the cauldron is the size of a quarter. I painted the eyes with nail polish so they would not be black on black and blend in with the body. Working with black thread was really annoying. It was hard to see the stiches and difficult to know where I was in the pattern. Every little pieces of lint or fluff was also visible against the black.
More Tattoos

I had another tattoo appointment scheduled during this stay, at Ember Tattoo in Mount Dora. My artist was Tay and I would definitely go back to her for more work. The shop was super cool and I really liked the overall vibes. Tay had her own room within the studio that had a lot of cool artwork on the walls.
The main reason for this appointment was to get a tattoo in memory of Scylla. She passed back in July but it took me a little while to be ready to get the tattoo. It is her pawprint with forget me nots and catnip flowers. I was really happy with how it came out and the grey pawprint matches the frame of the tattoo next to it perfectly.
The other piece I got was one of her flash drawings that went well with a grouping of other tattoos I have. She fit in perfectly and I love her.
Overall Rating ⭐⭐⭐
Stay Duration: 3 weeks – November 22, 2025 – December 13, 2025
Weather: Sunny and warm – Temperature Range: 45-82 – Average Temp: 75

- Site 881 ⭐⭐⭐
- Full Hookup, 15/30/50 amp, Back-in.
- The sites are not marked well and the map is not up to date. They had recently redrawn lines and adjusted site sizes and angles. There was a lot of confusion as to where our site started/ended and if we should be on an angle. When we first arrived we parked straight and the staff said we needed to be on an angle. We then re-parked on an angle that felt very awkward. Shortly after the same staff member came over and apologized and said we should be parked straight, where we were the first time. By this time it had been a solid 30 minutes of trying to park just to end up where we started. I had also stepped in a red ant hill and had a dozen or so bites on my foot. I was over it and frustrated.
- When they rezoned the sites they did not take into account where utilities were so everything was on the wrong side.
- We were lucky to not have anyone on either side of us during this stay.
- Dumpster was close easy to walk to.
- Campground ⭐⭐
- The best thing about this campground was that it was close to where my parents are. Other than that, there was nothing special about it, just a place to park.
- We did not seem to be the only ones who struggled with where their site was and how to park, lots of people were parked in in the middle of two sites and staff did not seem to be enforcing staying within your site.
- It is a very large park with over 900 sites and is split up into 3 sections. We were in the smallest section, The Pines section and were happy that is where we were placed since it was more quiet than the other two sections.
- The section we were in was on the corner of two busy roads. There was a decent amount of road noise the closer to the corner you were. We seemed to be just far enough away that it did not impact us negatively. Only one side of the park had a privacy fence, leaving the other side exposed to the main road.
- There was a bit of construction while we were there, there was a single wide trailer that had taken a lot of damage. They demolished it and cleared it within a few days. It was efficient but it was noisy while it was happening.
- Other People/Pets ⭐⭐⭐
- I do not have a lot to say here, for the most park everyone was quiet and kept to themselves. There were a few poop stations that were easy to get to.
- Internet Connection ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- We used our T-Mobile internet, it had a great connection without us needed to put the antenna up. Satellite would have worked as well.
- Vibes ⭐⭐⭐
- The best thing about this park was it’s location. It was much closer to my parent’s house than the park in Clermont.
